Meryl Streep Chops Off Her Paycheck for Donation

It seems that Meryl Streep has slightly transformed to be the real Iron Lady of Hollywood. With a great persistence, the veteran actress proves that what people said about her role as Margaret Thatcher is not at all true. Among many other Hollywood actress, Meryl has been selected as the most perfect cast to take the role of the Iron Lady. However, not everyone has the same opinion about this decision. Some closest friends and colleagues of the famous former Prime Minister have stated their negative responds about the movie, including the decision to cast Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. Tim Bell, former adviser of the Prime Minister stated that the movie’s only value is to gain great profit for the actress and the writer of the movie.

And whatever the real intention of Meryl Streep, apparently she has made a great decision to donate some of her paycheck from her role as Margaret Thatcher proves that all of the negative opinions about the movie’s profit are untrue. It is said by New York Post, the actress has agreed to cut off her paycheck to $1 million. The rest of her paycheck will directly go to National Women’s History Museum, which she has concerned about these years.

Surely, such a great intention instantly erases the opinion that the biopic movie of Margaret Thatcher is made to gain private profit. Some sources mentioned that the actress is willing to get less than her usual rate, and all for the sake of National Women’s History Museum. As what she said in last year’s fall, Meryl Streep is concerned for the issue that there is no women’s history museum. This becomes one of her reason to privately fund some part of her paycheck to build the museum permanently. The museum is planned to be build nearby Washington DC’s National Mall.
